HINBook is a community research registry, not a title database, appraisal, or warranty.
Informational use
Records may contain errors or unresolved claims. Independently verify identity, condition, ownership, and legal status before any transaction.
Contributions
Submit only lawful, relevant material you are entitled to share. You grant HINBook permission to screen, review, display, and format approved contributions.
Business profiles
Only use a business profile when you are authorized to represent that provider. Actions taken through a business profile are publicly attributed to the business and privately attributed to the signed-in operator. Business messages may be available to other current operators who have permission to manage that business inbox.
Reader-improvement permission
When you actively select the optional reader-improvement checkbox, you give HINBook limited permission to privately retain the identifier crop and your confirmed correction for up to 180 days, process the crop through its safety and OpenAI-powered verification services, and automatically use server-verified, broadly consistent samples from established signed-in contributors to evaluate and improve the HIN and registration readers. This permission does not allow public display, does not verify ownership, and ends for future use when the sample is removed.
Moderation
HINBook may automatically screen, queue, reject, label, edit, or remove material to protect accuracy, privacy, safety, and the integrity of the registry. Repeated violations may reduce or suspend posting privileges.
Reports and disputes
Members may report published contributions. Ownership disputes, accusations, accidents, and other sensitive claims may be held for human review regardless of an automated screening result.
No transaction role
Sale tags are informational links. HINBook is not the seller, broker, escrow provider, inspector, or party to a boat transaction.
